He always hated it when She made him wait at their favourite coffee shop, but then again its always an excuse to continue working on his code. He designed codes for a living; He was considered a wiz at what He did. She on the other hand was a defence attorney, who took on a lot of pro-bono (without pay) cases. It worked out well, because She made more than enough from her cooperate cases to take up all this free work. He recalled how they had met at exactly this particular coffee shop. It was a busy afternoon, but the shop was not too crowded. The cashier told him that She (the lady behind him) would always order the exact same thing as He did. He turned around and She blushed, and smiled and in that moment the whole world stopped…

She took a sip of her coffee as She continued typing away another email to her office back in New Jersey. He glanced at her from a distance; He was glad that they had come far away from their routine lives. They had been planning for months to take a trip to their hometown Mumbai. But it kept on getting pushed, either due to his commitments towards his toy business or her duties as the Vice-President at the pharmaceutical company. But finally they were able to take a few days off to themselves. He was not to happy about her checking and replying to emails while they were on vacation, but She had made a valid point that there were children’s lives on the line. He loved that about her, She always looked out for the interest of the people, rather than the company. Although She got into trouble on her path of truthfulness, He always made her feel better by making her a cup of coffee…

He had been a barista at the local café for a while now. It was by chance that He had walked into the café with his friends after their classes and saw the vacancy board. Al though He was on a sports scholarship, it did not include textbooks and other supplies and the extra money helped the family. It was pretty decent hours, and the manager was young guy so when He needed to take off early (for an exam or football practice sessions), or take an extra shift for the over time, his boss was more than willing. It had been a slow Sunday, and He began to flip through his textbook to revise for the quiz next day. He was on cashier duty today, and He enjoyed it because it gave him some first hand interaction with the customers. He heard the entrance bell chime and She walked in. She was the prettiest girl, He had seen. And in that moment He knew She was the one…
